Something to look at and hold can work where a candle or a mug would not.\n\nThis piece is a crystal ball with a butterfly and a sunflower engraved inside it. This guide covers what it shows, its size, the stand and how to look after it.\n\nHow the engraving actually works\n\nThe butterfly is not painted on the outside of the ball. The listing says the 3D butterfly and flower image is engraved by laser, and that it is clear and will never fade.\n\nThe photos show a butterfly with patterned wings beside the head of a sunflower. The engraving shows white inside the clear ball.\n\nThe ball is described as K9 crystal with a polished finish.\n\nWhat light does to it\n\nIn the photos the engraving shows most clearly against a dark background. There is no light in the product itself.\n\nOne caution. A clear ball concentrates light, like a magnifying glass. Do not leave it in a direct sunbeam near paper, fabric or wood.\n\nSize and stand\n\nThe listing gives the diameter as 2.36 inches. A listing photo marks the ball at 2.3 inches (6 cm) and the stand at 2.1 inches (5.5 cm) wide. Another photo shows the ball held in one hand.\n\nThe metal stand has three scrolled legs and a ring that the ball rests in. Paperweight is listed as an additional feature, so the ball can be lifted off the stand and set on papers.\n\nWho this actually suits\n\nThe listing describes it as a gift for anyone who loves butterflies, and names girls, women, moms and grandmas. It says butterflies symbolize hope, optimism and positive change.\n\nThe design has no wording, so it is not tied to one person or occasion.\n\nIt does not suit very young children. It is breakable and not a toy.\n\nThings to check before you order\n\nFirst, this is sold exactly as shown. The Butterfly Flower design is already inside the crystal and cannot be altered. No name or date can be added.\n\nSecond, check what is listed. Diameter, material, finish and the included stand are all listed. Weight is not.\n\nThird, think about presentation. The listing names the ball and the stand, not a gift box.\n\nLooking after it\n\nThe care instruction is wipe clean.\n\nA soft, dry cloth handles dust and fingerprints. Avoid abrasive pads and strong cleaners. Do not put it in a dishwasher.\n\nKeep it away from shelf edges. It can chip or break if it is dropped onto a hard floor.\n\nThe short version\n\nA 2.36 inch (60 mm) K9 crystal ball with a butterfly and a sunflower laser engraved inside it, supplied with a metal stand. The listing says the image will never fade. It can sit on a shelf or a desk, or be used as a paperweight.\n\nIt is the wrong choice if you need wording on the piece or something for a young child.", "llm_summary": "The Butterfly and Sunflower Engraved Crystal Ball is a 2.36 inch (60 mm) K9 crystal ball with a 3D image of a butterfly and a sunflower laser engraved inside it.
